Abundant Grace Is God’s Unmerited Favor

SCRIPTURE:

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17)

DEVOTIONAL:

Abundant Grace Is God’s Unmerited Favor

This week’s scripture not only says “grace” but an “abundance of grace.” An abundance of God’s unmerited favor. You may not deserve it, but you need to receive it. So grace or unmerited favor starts when you’re born again. Favor manifests itself once you’re taught about favor and grace. You use your faith to activate it in your life. You’ll recognize it, because favor will distinguish you.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:5–8 Emphasis mine

What is favor in the eyes of the Lord? What does grace mean? God singled out Noah and his family, and while the rest of humanity perished in the flood, Noah and his family were spared. You can see this throughout the Bible in the lives of people who achieved success. You can track their lives and see favor attached to it. These examples are in the Bible so that believers can expect and look for the reality of favor upon their lives.

PRAYER:

Dear God, I declare that Your grace and favor is upon my life, and by faith, I expect it to distinguish me wherever I go and bring success in whatever I do. I don’t deserve it in myself, but through what Christ did for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
