SCRIPTURE:

…he (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

(Romans 4:20–21)

DEVOTIONAL:

Don’t go by your feelings. Go by your faith.

There is a difference between human faith, which is called “sense knowledge faith,” and real faith. If you’ve got to wait until you see physical evidence to prove something is real, that’s human faith. That’s the “doubting Thomas” kind of faith that must examine the scars on Jesus’ body before believing in His resurrection.

Human faith says if you can’t see it, you can’t believe it. If I don’t feel it, it just doesn’t exist. Human faith is looking for some outward sign, looking for goose bumps. Reread this week’s scripture, Romans 4:20–21, shown above. Backing up to two verses before it (verses 17 and 19), we read, “(as it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were… And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:”

God said to Abraham, “I have made thee a father of many nations,” before Abraham even had one child. For this to come to pass, both he and his wife Sarah had to receive healing in their bodies before the promise could be fulfilled.

Your job as a believer is to feed your faith with the Word of God, and let your faith receive what’s already been provided.

Your job is to believe that God will do what He promised. That’s the only job you’ve got. What God said is true.

HEALING CONFESSION:

Say this out loud with me, “I don’t care what my feelings tell me. I put the Word first place, and I am healed.”
